So, I'm not starving yet, but I do need a job, and I need to start a new career. My family is long-lived, so I can reasonably expect to be alive until 85.

My current job, until I can find something to buy beans and pay electricity, is to sell this house, and decide what to do next. My last job was being Lyman Gore's wife. That took some resources and most of 19 years.

Employers don't much care about that.

  1. How are you holding up? Haven't seen you around lately. Tasty_Bits mentioned today that he hopes you and your boots are doing well.

  2. Still pitching some resumes out there without any results and trying to make decisions.

I have absolutely no desire to be going forward alone at this stage of my life. But it's not my choice, is it?

So, I'm looking at some associate degrees that I could pick up to support myself and build on going forward. If that's possible. I am 56.

Knocking the house down shouldn't be horrible. Lyman wasn't sentimental about objects, apart from his home-grown tomatoes.

  3. Oh my dear, I am so sorry that you are selling the house! That's a lot of work, indeed. I'll be praying for you and for a smooth transition to whatever comes next. <3

  4. It's just necessary, Francesca. It's more house than I need on a heck of a lot more land than I need. Someone else should have the opportunity to enjoy it.

    Time to start something new.
