Lana and I didn't go south. We drove out Martin Luther King to the end of the blacktop and onto a smaller road that passed Mount Repose, a John Bisland property.
Some distance beyond that we turned right on a narrow street into the woods. There we found a retired gentleman mud-logger in a charming weatherboard cottage that was neat as a pin.
That's what Lana was commissioned to photograph and paint.
It was a beautiful fall day, and we drove with the windows down.
